  • Dr. Harlan Witt, DVM

    Practice Owner/Veterinarian
I grew up in Illinois but moved to Michigan to attend college.  I graduated from Michigan State University in 1969.  After college, I was fortunate enough to practice alongside Dr. Lyle Hartrick.  I worked with Dr. Hartrick for 17 years before purchasing the practice from him.  I have been practicing veterinary medicine for 47 years.  I love performing general surgeries and orthopedic surgeries, such as ACL repairs.  I have been happily married to my wife, Lee, for 50 years.  Together we have two beautiful twin daughters and one amazing son.  In my spare time I like to golf, garden, fish, and spend quality time with my wonderful seven grandchildren.

    Veterinary Technician
I have always loved animals.  Ever since I was little I knew that I wanted to work in the veterinary field.  When I was 17, I began working at my first job as a kennel assistant in a small animal veterinary hospital.  I attended Michigan State University and for the past 26 years I have worked as a veterinary technician at Hartrick Veterinary Clinic.  I am the proud mama of a German Short Hair Pointer, named Mick.  She was born at Hartricks during an emergency c-section performed by Dr. Witt.  Mick is now 8 years old and is a bundle of energy.

Growing up around animals and watching my aunt run a rescue perked my interest in the veterinary field at a very young age.  At 16, I started working at a dog kennel and have worked with animals ever since. I have now worked at Hartrick for just over a year and plan to gain as much experience as possible while working here.  My goal is to become a veterinary technician.  I am currently attending Baker College to obtain my degree in applied science in the veterinary technician program.
